Malta and Jersey sign double taxation agreement
Maltese High Commissioner Joseph Zammit Tabona and his counterpart Chief Minister Terry Le Sueu, signed a double taxation agreement for the avoidance of double taxation between Malta and Jersey.
Mr Zammit Tabona commented that such agreement was instrumental for trade relations to be strengthened further and further added that trade delegations could be organised to enhance trade relations. On the other hand, Chief Minister Le Sueur also pledged his support with the implementation of the agreement.
This was the 16th double taxation agreement signed during the past twenty two months.
The agreement between Malta and Jersey provides that dividends, interest and royalties are only taxable in the country of residence of the recipient.
