Antonella is a Director at Avanzia Taxand.
Antonella is a Certified Public Accountant graduated with a first degree from the University of Malta in 2010 and is a member of the Malta Institute of Accountants. Antonella has embarked on her career as an auditor with a Big 4 audit firm in 2010 and has moved in 2014 to engage within the finance and regulatory reporting function of a credit institution. She then joined Avanzia Taxand in 2016.
Antonella manages the accounting and financial reporting function and deals with a number of international clients from various sectors including wealth management and investments companies, amongst others. She also provides assistance with technical matters including compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and local accounting standards.
During her tenure at Avanzia Taxand, Antonella specialised in local and international tax matters, compliance, corporate taxation, indirect tax, tax planning, corporate restructuring and advises a number of clients in her areas of knowledge. Antonella is also conversant with corporate matters, management and administration of companies.
Dr. James Scerri Worley is a Director of Avanzia Taxand and is a a Maltese lawyer specialising mainly in commercial law, corporate matters, financial services legislation, and trusts. After graduating as a lawyer in 2003 he was admitted to the Maltese Legal Bar in 2004. Pursuant to his B.A (Law and Music) and Doctor of Laws (LL.D) degrees, he also pursued a Masters degree in Financial Services (M.A.) at the University of Malta focusing mainly on Corporate law, Funds, Local and International Tax, and Trusts.
His areas of practice include: Commercial Law, Mergers & Acquisitions, Financial Services, Corporate Law, Trusts, Civil law, Property law.
James acts on behalf of several international and local clients including credit and financial institutions, investment companies, professional services firms and general trading and holding entities. James also acts as an examiner within the Faculty of Law of the University of Malta and acts as a non-executive director and company secretary of various Maltese registered companies.
James is member of the Maltese Chamber of Advocates and of the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners (IFSP).
Marvic obtained her ACCA qualification in June 2011 and joined Avanzia Taxand in September 2011. She is a member of the ACCA as well as a member of the Malta Institute of Accountants.
Marvic pursued her career and obtained considerable experience in company secretarial, corporate matters and company law and advises on various aspects of The Companies Act including compliance and filing requirements, share transfers and reorganisations, redomiciliations and liquidations. In addition, Marvic ensures that clients’ statutory obligations under Maltese company law are fulfilled.
She is also responsible for due diligence, company incorporations and liaises with various local and international banks on due diligence, client acceptance and opening of bank accounts. Marvic assists clients with specialised compliance issues such as the UBO Register, FATCA and CRS reporting.
